100% Agave Tequila
Tequila is a premium liquor—and should be viewed similar to a Cognac or other brandies. In Mexico, the most traditional way to drink tequila is straight (i.e., without lime and salt).
Amigos was opened in 1973 and is Australias' oldest surviving Mexican Restaurant.
Day of the Dead
On this day the gates of heaven open and the spirits of all deceased children (angelitos) are allowed to reunite with their families for 24 hours. The decorative sculls are actually toys to delight the returning spirits of children on November 1.
A dark past...
The building itself was erected in the Victorian era and the upstairs was the scene of an infamous Wollongong murder many years ago.
